A BrasilÉire Legacy

Our
Story
The distinctive sound and flow of Phoenix and Wolfe can be better understood by taking a glimpse at their respective journeys in music.
Amanda has been singing bilingually since primary school, snatching some prestigious awards at Slógadh as part of her school choir, as well as an impressive run winning Labhairt na Gaeilge as part of Féile na hInse throughout primary and secondary school. Growing up in a musical home her father a drummer her love for music knows no bounds, with her taste in music being very eclectic, influenced equally by Clannad, Led Zeppelin, Sinead O' Connor and Electric Light Orchestra.
Cairo picked up his brothers guitar as a teenager and so began his journey. Influenced by the Brazilian worship music in his locality, he soon found rock and metal where his love of complex arrangements began. Later mentored by a student of Gamela a legend in his own right for his teaching methods of Brazilian Chord Melody, Cairo's flare for complexity took on more of a Brazilian identity. Both in their own right maintaining their writing and music as individuals until they began their journey as a Phoenix and Wolfe. This special duo are unstoppable, humble in their nature and yet powerful as their musicality and lyrics weave a spell unwittingly on their audiences.

The duo began writing together in 2019 after singing together at an open Mic session in Shannon in 2018. Amanda started her mentoring sessions with Dora Gola and SAL, exploring songwriting, harmonies, and the importance of heritage and culture and language. These sessions amplified alot of what Amanda and Cairo instinctively felt about music practice and songwriting. Amanda attended a song writing workshop with John Spillane and from there the duo harnessed their own style. Carving new pathways with seannós songs using electric guitar, or curling brazilian stylings over popular songs like Black is the color, infusing music with their own identity the duo decided they needed to pick a name and so Phoenix and Wolfe was born. Amanda went back and studied music for a year in 21/22 with the Local ETB. Graduating with distinctions.

They recorded their first single "We'll get used it it" in Spring of 2021. If 2021 was the year of songwriting then 2022 was the year for performing as the duo took their show on the road. They performed in The Attic Doolin, Dolans, Shannon Springs Hotel with Cuppa Tea TV singers circle, Shannon Live concert, while travelling to Dublin for The Show Off Sessisons and La Mansarda.
